Shifting their sound and image from solely aggressive, masculine hip hop to more diverse styles,[4] BTS wanted to express the beauty and anxiousness of "youth" and settled on the title of "花樣年華" (Korean: 화양연화; RR: Hwayangyeonhwa), loosely interpreted to define "youth" as "the most beautiful moment in life."[5] On April 6, 2015, BTS announced their comeback date for April 29, and revealed that all members participated in writing songs for the album.[6] On April 17, an animated comeback trailer[7] was uploaded on Big Hit Entertainment's official YouTube channel, which featured the album's intro track performed by Suga.[8] On April 19, Big Hit Entertainment announced the title of the album, and the first set of member concept photos[9] was posted on their official Twitter account. Along with the reveal of the second set of concept photos,[10] it was stated that two different cover design versions of the album would be released, Pink and White. The album would also include a 120-page photobook and a random photo card.[11] Big Hit Entertainment released the first music video teaser for the album's lead single "I Need U" on April 23.[12] On April 26, the album's track list was revealed, and an album preview was uploaded on Big Hit Entertainment's YouTube channel.[13] Two of the album's tracks, "Boyz with Fun" and "Converse High," had previously been previewed at the 2015 BTS Live Trilogy Episode I: BTS Begins concert held in Seoul on March 29.[14]

The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1 debuted at number two on the Gaon Weekly Album Chart in South Korea and rose to number one the following week.[31] It peaked at number two on the Monthly Album Chart in May.[32] In China, BTS ranked number one for two consecutive weeks on the Gaon Weibo Chart,[33] a weekly rank of the top 10 most popular Korean artists based on data gathered from China's most popular social media platform, Weibo. In Japan, the EP debuted at number 24 on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart[34] and number 45 on the Oricon Monthly Album Chart.[35] The EP ended 2015 as the sixth best-selling album of the year in South Korea, with 274,135 copies sold.[36]

The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever (Korean: 화양연화 Young Forever; Hanja: 花樣年華 Young Forever; RR: Hwayangyeonhwa Young Forever) is the first Korean-language compilation album by South Korean boy band BTS. The album was released on May 2, 2016 in two physical configurations, a day version and a night version.[2] The album contains twenty-three tracks, including three new singles ("Epilogue: Young Forever", "Fire" and "Save Me"), and most tracks from The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 1 and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 2, as well as several remixes.

The "Epilogue: Young Forever" music video was released on April 19,[14][15] picturing the members running in a maze full of fences as well as flashbacks to scenes from the "I Need U", "On Stage: Prologue" and "Run" videos. It was produced and directed by GDW.[16] The music video for "Fire," the lead single from the album, was released on May 2.[17] It featured the members dancing and partying in an abandoned place in flames.[18] The video was produced and directed by Lumpens[19] and GDW.[16] Fuse stated that, "The cut feels like an upgraded version of "Dope," a standout single from The Most Beautiful Moment In Life, Part 1. The accompanying music video also sees the guys whipping out their most intense choreography to date".[20] On May 9, BTS released the dance version of the "Fire" video ahead of their promotion on music programs.[21] The dance was choreographed by Keone Madrid.[22] The "Save Me" music video was released on May 15, which was notably filmed in a one-shot take.[23][24] The dance was choreographed by The Quick Style Crew[25] and the music video was also produced and directed by GDW.[16]

Prior to "Be," "Map of the Soul: 7" was marked as the group's most personal album, leveraging Jungian psychology to examine the self. Using selections from their 2019 EP "Map of the Soul: Persona" as a five-track introduction, "7" is a wild journey that doesn't feel quite as cohesive as some of the group's other albums.

For the first (but not the last) time in BTS' discography, all seven members have a solo track on the album. Together they paint a cohesive picture, giving "Wings" one of the most poignant emotional arcs in their catalog.

The album repackage, "You Never Walk Alone," delivers "Spring Day," one of the group's most beloved singles (which references Ursula Le Guin's short story "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas") as well as the bombastic "Not Today."

The irony is that these figures represent only a part of their sales. While most recent acts issue no compilations, BTS dropped tons of reissues and best of albums, along with music videos.

Since most of their albums have been issued almost exclusively from Gaon, an official chart provider that accounts for sales of all Korean releases even when they are exported, the margin of error is close to 0.

With Wings, they stepped up one more time. Blood Sweat & Tears made them superstars in their native country. A #1 hit, the song has now moved past 1.9 million units globally. It was for long their most downloaded song.

Then came both volumes of The Most Beautiful Moment In Life, both issued in 2015. They add for 9 million equivalent album sales combined. With these scores, they rank among the most successful Korean efforts of all-time. 2ff7e9595c
